Scalp Hunter

Another Foundry discontinued Old West figure. This one is the first in a set of two Scalp Hunters called De Witt Pucket and Smiling Abe Donahue of which this is the latter, I think. I love painting Foundry miniatures but if I buy direct from their historical site the postage is way too much. For example I picked this set up on ebay for £9.50 including P&P, the same type of sets on the Foundry site cost about £12 which I would pay if the P&P wasn't £8. As much as I like their figures I begrudge paying such high P&P. Their new Fantasy site charges a percentage of the purchase total with a minimum of £2 something. Hopefully the historical site will adopt this method. Enough of my moaning, hope you like the paint job.

Viking Hersir

Four Viking Hersir by Crusader Miniatures (http://www.crusaderminiatures.com/). These were quite simplistic figures in design, but a great pleasure to paint for it. I've used LBM shield transfers for the first time which after messing up the first one I got the hang of and would highly recommend ( http://www.littlebigmenstudios.co.uk/catalog/).

The Hersir commanded between twenty and a hundred men and owed loyalty to a Jarl. Normally equipped with a conical helmet, short chain mail coat and a wooden shield but were also known to use the single and double handed axe. They would normally fight on foot at the front of the shield wall.

Mountain Men 2

Three more completed, finishing the batch of six. I cant believe that these are discontinued figures, they've been a joy to paint. I've got some discontinued Foundry Scalp Hunters to paint next, so looking forward to bringing those to life.

Mountain Men

First three in a batch of six Mountain men finished. I'm not all that pleased with the photos on these. The battery's were going on the camera so I'm not sure if this as an effect on picture quality or what but couldn't get rid of glare.

Changed the background and it solved the glare problem so that sentence doesn't make sense now as I've removed the offending photos.
